*Discussion questions:

  1. What is the biggest waterfall you have seen? How did you feel?
  2. Jesus said, "Whoever believes in me… out of his heart will flow rivers of living water" John 7:38. The animals who live near a river or a waterfall like this will never be thirsty. Jesus said, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink". What do you think this means?

Football

Football (soccer) is Argentina’s most popular sport. It is played from childhood into old age. Argentina is one of the most successful national football teams in the world, having won 2 World Cups in 1978 and 1986. Argentina has been runners up three times in the 1930, 1990 and 2014.

*The Final Play
Adapted from Food 4 Thought
The soccer game has two halves, 45 minutes in each half. There are 10 players and one goalkeeper for each team. The goalkeeper stops the ball from going into the goal. He can use his hands. The defenders stop the ball from going into the goal and they stand in front of the goalkeeper. The midfielders play defense and attack (offense). They try to stop the other team from getting the ball on their side. They also try to get the ball on the other team’s side. The forwards attack. They try to score goals in the other team’s goal.
The first 45 minutes pass with risky plays made by both teams, sometime in defense, sometimes in offense. At halftime, the coach may make some changes in the formation to make his team more effective in order to win the game. The second half begins, 45 minutes later, the referee’s whistle blows, marking the end of the game. The outcome cannot be changed after the game is over.
The mistakes made by the team which lost cannot be changed. The plays made by the winner cannot be repeated. After the final play, the match is over.
Your life can be described in a similar way to a soccer game. It began the day you were born. Throughout life, you had success and failure, happiness and sorrow.
One day your life will end and the final result cannot be changed. The Bible says that it is appointed for a man to die once, and after that comes judgement. You don’t know when your life will end. After it ends, it is too late to decide where you will spend eternity.
It does not matter what language you speak, what education you have, or how wealthy you are. Your life will end some day and you will be victorious … or defeated … forever!
The good news is that you can decide right now to be victorious. You can turn away from offending God. You can accept Jesus Christ as the One who paid the penalty for your disobedience. You can have eternal life and you will not need to fear judgement.
Jesus said, "Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgement but has passed from death to life."
